The Velas first baseman has now delivered hits in 20 straight games. "Alonso has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Ciudad Juarez manager Tomás Costa told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had." Alonso Ruíz singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. At present, Ruíz is batting .322 with 78 hits and 4 home runs.
