Velásquez Selected Top Player Monday, October 6th , 2042 22-year-old José Velásquez sent shock waves through Alianza Beisbol Al Sur de la Frontera last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Alianza Beisbol Al Sur de la Frontera Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Velásquez made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .412 average, 7 hits in 17 at-bats, 3 home runs and 9 RBI. Where the Nezahualcoyotl Coyotes right fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Velásquez certainly made his mark last week. Currently Velásquez is batting .302 with 8 home runs and 42 RBIs. |
