Eastern League Names League's Best Friday, June 13th , 2042 At the age of 15, Dave Hawkins of the Moody HS Trojans could very well have his best years ahead of him. It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2042 was good enough to win the right fielder the Eastern League Outstanding Hitter Award. "See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach." The top hitter put up a .372 batting average this year, as well as a .438 on-base percentage. He played 46 games and racked up 64 hits, 13 doubles, 2 triples, 14 home runs, 33 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He received 32 first place votes out of a possible 44. Mitch Miller of the Blanchard HS Ligers finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Greg López of the Central HS Wildcats finished third with 7 first place votes.
