EL Announces Outstanding Pitcher Award Thursday, June 12th , 2042 The votes are in for the 2042 Eastern League Outstanding Pitcher Award. It has been bestowed on Duane Erickson of the Sarasota HS Sailors. The 18-year-old Sailors ace finished the year with a 5-1 mark, logged 10 starts, threw 53.2 innings, yielded 38 hits, struck out 46 and held the opposition to a .196 batting average. He received 28 first place votes out of a possible 44. Justin Smith of the DeSoto Central HS Panthers finished second in voting with 9 first place votes, while Mike Williams of the South Caldwell HS Spartans finished third with 4 first place votes.
