Cajigas Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Dakota HS Thursday, April 17th , 2042 It was the best of both worlds for the Dakota HS Nuggets at Nuggets Ballpark, as they defeated the Bellevue West HS Surge, 3-0, and also snapped Alfonso Cajigas's 21-game hitting streak. The 16-year-old Bellevue West HS catcher failed to get a hit in 1 at-bat. "Nothing personal against Cajigas, we just wanted to win the game," said Nuggets skipper Al Miller. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Cajigas frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." This season, Cajigas is hitting .365 with 9 home runs. |
