Tigers Russell Booms 3 HRs Saturday, April 13th , 2041 The Seton Hall Prep Pirates won't soon forget the display of raw power by William Russell of the Katy HS Tigers. He victimized the Pirates by pounding three pitches out of Pirates Ballpark to spark his club to a win, 6-3. "I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," Russell told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow, I could just pop up the same pitches and go 0-for-3." In addition to the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. William Russell hit a solo-shot off Dave Beard in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Richard Hartung in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Clarence O'Brien in the 8th. So far this season, Russell is hitting .295 with 14 home runs, 29 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has 38 hits in 129 at-bats and a .363 OBP. |
