Brawlers End Tucker Streak Thursday, April 4th , 2041 The Winter Springs HS Bears lost to the Carrollton HS Brawlers, 8-1, at Field of the Bears, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Tom Tucker's 23-game hitting streak. The catcher went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Tucker, we would win the game," Brawlers manager Jesús Méndez explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." So far this year, Tucker has 7 home runs and a .327 batting average. |
