Crane Cracks 5 Hits
Tuesday, April 2nd , 2041
After his 5-hit effort at Mankato Park was tarnished by Mankato West HS's 6-4 loss to the Chatfield HS Mustangs, center fielder Todd Crane told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."

He didn't get the win, but the 18-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-7 game against the Mustangs.

"His swing is getting there," said Reds skipper Cristóbal Gonzáles after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Todd did that to perfection and we wasted it."

Todd Crane doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 11th, struck out in the 12th and doubled in the 15th.

Thus far this year, Crane is hitting .253 with no home runs, 1 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
