Tuesday, June 12th , 2040
At the age of 18, Augusto Galván says he still has a lot to learn about life in Interscholastic Federation.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Rio Rancho HS Goats reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2040 Western League Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Guaynabo, Puerto Rico native said.
For the season, Galván had 6 saves in 17 relief appearances, which totaled 26.2. He fanned 26 betters, while walking 6 and put up a record of 3-0 to go with his 0.67 ERA.
He received 26 first place votes out of a possible 44. Ernie Scott of the Tumwater HS Thunderhawks finished second in voting with 12 first place votes, while Ramón Zambrano of the Jesuit HS Corsairs finished third with 6 first place votes.
