Sunday, June 15th , 2042
He may have less experience than most of his United States Collegiate Baseball Association peers, but that didn't slow Mark Patterson down at all in 2042.
At the age of 20, the Houston third baseman has been named the winner of the United States Collegiate Baseball Association Outstanding Hitter Award.
He had a .378 batting average and a .485 on-base percentage this year. In 55 games he piled up 70 hits, 12 doubles, 1 triple, 28 home runs, 56 RBIs and 48 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 40 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. James Torres of the Villanova Starbursts finished second in voting, while Wes Piper of the East Carolina Sea Dawgs finished third.
