Axe-Purple Haze Fight Nets 5-Game Suspensions
Saturday, April 12th , 2042
Baseball confrontations occasionally get intense and sometimes that tension becomes too much and boils over into more than just words. This time it happened to Stanford's Kawanari Tashima and Northwestern's Luis Guerra. The two were the main participants in a fight that cleared the benches. Today both were suspended by the league for 5 games for their aggressive actions.
"I hope things settle down now," the manager of the Purple Haze said later. "There's no reason for us to be locked in a cycle of revenge. We all need to focus on baseball instead."
Currently Tashima has 4 home runs and a .186 batting average.
For the season, Guerra is 0-and-1 with no saves and a 2.77 ERA. He has given up 12 hits in 13 innings with 6 strikeouts.
