Christian Hitless, Streak Ends at 22 Thursday, March 27th , 2042 The hitting streak that Houston center fielder Gary Christian had kept going for 22 games was ended by the Washington State Palouse Knights. Christian was stymied over 3 at-bats, but the rest of his team picked him up, getting the 4-2 victory at Ballpark of Washington State. "Hitting streaks come and go," Christian said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." Thus far this season, Christian is hitting .347 with 6 home runs, 14 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has 33 hits in 95 at-bats and has played in 23 games. |
