Wilson Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Travelers Sunday, March 16th , 2042 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Jeffrey Wilson can celebrate. The Cincinnati Unifiers right fielder powered three into the stands at Unifiers Ballpark against the USC Travelers. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Wilson told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 3-for-5 as the Unifiers toppled USC by a score of 12-3, knocking in 7 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Cincinnati manager Jesús Ávila said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Jeffrey Wilson struck out in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Matt McGill in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Victor Douglas in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Rodney Lucott in the 8th. In the current season, Wilson has put up a .400 batting average with 22 hits, 8 home runs, 18 runs batted in and scored 15 runs. |
