UAB Halts Frederick's Hitting Steak Sunday, March 2nd , 2042 The hitting streak that Colorado right fielder Duane Frederick had kept going for 21 games was ended by the UAB Dragons. Frederick was stymied over 4 at-bats, but the rest of his team picked him up, getting the 2-1 victory at Alabama-Birmingham Grounds. "Hitting streaks come and go," Frederick said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." |
