Ben Cooper learned that the hard way today as he was dismissed from his managerial position with the Rutgers Old Queens. Citing a need to "shake things up," a team official said it was time to move on. "We respect what Ben has done for the club and we thank him for his time here, but we just think the future of the Old Queens needs to be handled by someone else and needs to move in a different direction," said club general manager in a prepared statement. For his part, Cooper remained upbeat about the decision. "I know it's a business and sometimes you've just got to make a change," he said. "I want to thank Rutgers for the opportunity to manage here." Team officials are expected to announce an interim manager in the next few days. |
