Red Deer Halts Cintrón's Hitting Steak
Saturday, August 30th , 2042
The Red Deer Kings pitching staff did its job, holding hot-hitting José Cintrón hitless in 5 at-bats during the club's 6-5 victory over the Hamilton Industrialists at Hamilton Grounds. The disappointing performance ended a 21-game hitting streak for the left fielder.
"I'm a little down right now," Cintrón said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too."
This season, Cintrón has hit 7 home runs and posted a .262 batting average.
