Hit Streak Now at 20 for Cintrón
Wednesday, August 27th , 2042
Win or lose, José Cintrón just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games.
The Hamilton Industrialists left fielder went 1-for-4, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 5-4, by the Calgary Stampede at Ballpark of Calgary.
"It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." José Cintrón flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
At present, Cintrón is batting .264 with 128 hits and 7 home runs. He has knocked in 36 runs and scored 88 times.
