Apollos Win Wild Card Monday, October 6th , 2042 It went the distance, but the Tempe Apollos finally disposed of the Crystal Lake Sandgnats 7-6 in the series clincher at Ellison Field at Dole Park. Winning the finale gave the Apollos the series, 3-2. They will now advance to the Divisional . The Most Valuable Player Award went to Tempe third baseman António Herrera. He batted .409 in the series, collecting 8 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. "António deserves it," said Apollos manager Tomás Rentería. "He was the glue that held our club together."
