Statesmen Heading to Divisional Monday, October 6th , 2042 Depending on your loyalties, the Wild Card was either thrilling or heartbreaking. The series went down to its final game, with the Charleston Statesmen and the West Virginia Alleghenies giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Statesmen came out on top, winning 6-5 at Watt Powell Field today to take the series 3-2. "We're lucky to be going into the Divisional ," said Charleston pitcher Fraser MacIlraith. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason." MacIlraith earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .471 average, with 2 home runs, 6 RBI and 2 runs scored.
