Leith Pitches Gem as Ghosts Beat Aurora, 1-0 Saturday, September 13th , 2042 Connor Leith of the Niihama-shi Ghosts was on top of his game. The 31-year-old tantalized the Aurora Borealis with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 1-0. "He had the changeup working," Aurora manager Michel Provost said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower." The Niihama-shi hurler had 4 strikeouts, gave up no walks and surrendered 1 hit in his complete-game effort. Leith told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league." "If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.
