Year Ends for Javier Torres in Palm Springs
Monday, September 1st , 2042
Palm Springs center fielder Javier Torres could miss the remainder of the season because of a ruptured achilles tendon. He exited yesterday's Duluth game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Torres would be out 5-6 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
Torres currently has a .250 batting average with 11 hits, 2 homers, 6 RBIs, 6 runs scored and a .312 OBP.
