Roberts Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games

The number just keeps getting higher.
Tempe second baseman Michael Roberts has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 2 hits in 5 at-bats as the Tempe won the game, 10-5, over the Bakersfield Bears at Gisolo-Duppa Field.
"Who knows how long it will go on?" Bakersfield manager Glen Wallace said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Michael Roberts grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This year, Roberts has socked 144 hits in 471 at-bats for a .306 average with 13 home runs. He is getting on base at a .398 pace and his totals also include 63 RBIs and 89 runs scored.
