Thrice Is Nice: Harada Unloads 3 Homers
Sunday, August 17th , 2042
Kentucky Thoroughbreds right fielder Tomomi Harada put on a dazzling display of power at Moultrie Field against the Charleston Statesmen. In the 5-1 Thoroughbreds victory, Harada penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Charleston manager Luis Salars said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 26-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Harada said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Tomomi Harada hit a solo-shot off José Mendoza in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off José Mendoza in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off José Mendoza in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
This season, Harada is batting at a .284 clip with 13 home runs and 44 RBIs.
