Okinawa Blanks Palm Springs Behind Morrison
Thursday, August 7th , 2042
The Palm Springs Codgers were almost helpless in their 11-0 loss to the Okinawa Shisa and hurler Robert Morrison. Morrison kept the Codgers confused all game, spinning a 10-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Morrison," Palm Springs manager Bob Sullivan said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 23-year-old left-hander had 2 walks and 6 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Morrison said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
So far this season, Morrison has logged a 14-5 record with a 3.15 ERA. He has started 22 games, hurled 157.1 innings and registered 125 strikeouts and 40 walks.
