Bears Get Zilch in 1-0 Loss to Zephyrs, Carlos
Saturday, July 26th , 2042
It was not a good day at the plate for the Bakersfield Bears. They came up empty when it mattered against Reno Zephyrs right-hander Ramón Carlos, who scattered 3 hits across 9 innings and held the Bears scoreless.
"We had 3 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," Bakersfield manager Glen Wallace said later.
Carlos chalked up 6 strikeouts and no walks in the 1-0 Zephyrs win.
On the season, Carlos has compiled a 3-8 mark with a 4.47 ERA in 13 starts. In pitching 106.2 innings he has 69 strikeouts and 26 walks while limiting the opposition to a .265 batting average.
