Arlington Bats Go Silent in 4-0 Loss
San Antonio Calzones of Laredo starter Naomichi Kobayashi turned in a top-notch performance against the Arlington Bureaucrats at Elysian Fields. The result was a win for the Calzones of Laredo, 4-0. Kobayashi, the winner, moves to 8-1. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. By defeating Arlington, the second-place Calzones of Laredo improved to 35-27.

San Antonio center fielder Steve Dinan contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 20th hit of the season and put the Calzones of Laredo ahead, 3-0.

"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Kobayashi.
