Carlos Ramos pitched well, but the Queretaro Desperados still lost the game, falling, 3-2, to the Merida Adelantados at Desperados Ballpark. Jesús Madrigal earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 2-0. Arturo Cruz was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 8 save opportunities.
Merida won the game in part because of Pedro Gonzáles. The right fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Adelantados ahead, 3-0. For the game, Gonzáles had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Gonzáles.
The victory puts Merida at 24-38.
