Jardineros Earn 6-3 Home Win
|
The Zapopan Torrenas and San Luis Potosi Jardineros left the fans buzzing.
The San Luis Potosi Jardineros dumped the Zapopan Torrenas, 6-3, in large part due to left fielder Miguel Batses. On the day, Batses was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Jardineros. José Martínez, who finished 4th in the ABSF-MEX AAA in strikeouts with 135 in 2038, was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, with 6 walks and no strikeouts. Lorenzo Fracso notched his 10th save in 12 chances.
The Jardineros got a big at-bat from third baseman Ricardo Silva. For the game, Silva went 2 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 14th double of the season gave San Luis Potosi a 2-0 lead.
