Adelantados Handed 5-0 Loss by El Ray

The Merida Adelantados and El Ray Vampiros riveted fans at Vampiros Ballpark.
The El Ray Vampiros dumped the Merida Adelantados, 5-0, in large part due to center fielder Alonso Martínez. On the day, Martínez was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Vampiros. So far in 2042, El Ray is 28-29.
Ernesto López had a big 2-run double for the Vampiros in the bottom of the fourth inning. With El Ray leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Gabriel Borges and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 24th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Vampiros ahead, 4-0.
"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Martínez.
