The Neo-Tokyo Akira took it on the chin, losing, 10-1, to the Aurora Borealis. Jung-hyun Yi, who is tied for 5th in the SL in wins with 7, pitched a strong game for Aurora. The winner was Yi. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Michael Doyle. The second-place Borealis have won 9 in a row.
Masamichi Daikawa had a big 2-run double for the Borealis in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Aurora leading 3-1 and the bases loaded, he got a knuckle curve from 35-year old right-handed pitcher Michael Doyle and swatted a double to center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Borealis ahead, 5-1.
"The team is playing at a high level," said Borealis manager Michel Provost.
