The Leon Zapateros stopped the Ciudad Juarez Velas, 5-4, at Ballpark of León. The Zapateros got a big game from Jorge Ruíz, who was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2. Leon reliever António Salazar snagged the win, upping his record to 2-2. Iván Avalos shouldered the loss. Ángel Rodríguez sewed up the save, his 15th.

Leon took a 5-4 lead on Guillermo Cortéz's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Cortéz hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Ciudad Juarez pitcher Martín Rivera visibly frustrated.
