Vampiros Suffer One-Run Loss at Ciudad Acuna
|
The Ciudad Acuna Mariachis scored a tight, 3-2 win versus the El Ray Vampiros at Mariachis Ballpark. Ciudad Acuna pitcher Juan Quintero held his own in the contest. The victory puts Ciudad Acuna at 20-30.
Jorge Flores had a big run-scoring double for the Mariachis in the bottom of the first inning. With Ciudad Acuna leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a circle change from Javier Ferreira, who finished 2nd in the ABSF-MEX AAA in innings pitched with 174.1 in 2039, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mariachis ahead, 3-0.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Quintero.
