Guadalupe starter Carlos Martínez kept the San Luis Potosi offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his slider in leading the Frijoles de Dios to a 5-1 win. At 23-24, Guadalupe is in 6th place in the Zona Sur.

Guadalupe shortstop Jorge Hernández contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a curveball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 38th hit of the season and put the Frijoles de Dios ahead, 5-0.

"Very good win for our guys," said Hernández.
