Ciudad Acuna Earn 6-2 Victory at Vampiros Ballpark
|
Ciudad Acuna Mariachis starter Víctor Meléndez pitched his team past the El Ray Vampiros, 6-2. Today's win puts Ciudad Acuna at 17-27, while El Ray falls to 24-20.
Ciudad Acuna used a well-timed hit by Jorge Flores to capture the win. The shortstop socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Mariachis ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Ciudad Acuna manager Dave Long.
