In a tight game between the Shin Seiki Evas and the Tempe Apollos, pitcher Johnny Arthur was terrific on the mound. The Shin Seiki right-hander helped his team to the 3-0 win. Arthur yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 7-1. With the win, Shin Seiki goes to 36-24, while the Apollos fall to 31-29.
The Evas prevailed in a game in which the pitchers had the upper hand.
"Johnny was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Shin Seiki manager Yoritomo Masuda.
