Ruíz goes 3-for-3, Leads Velas to Win
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Ciudad Juarez Velas and Guadalajara Chivas Rayadas.
The 4-1 Ciudad Juarez win over Guadalajara was due in large part to Alonso Ruíz. The Velas designated hitter was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Jorge Amézaga, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 0. His record now stands at 2-0. Pedro Ramírez was credited with the save for Ciudad Juarez, his 2nd of the season.
