Deltas Slip Past Chinook, 3-2

The Portland Chinook got a superb performance from pitcher Bruce Lewis, but the Sacramento Deltas still won the game, 3-2. Lewis threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Picking up the win was Yub Issa. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 2. Blaine Julien earned the save for Sacramento, his 12th.
Sacramento used a timely hit from Yong-hyun Sang to get the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Deltas ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Tough loss," said Portland manager Artie Herman. "But we'll rebound from it."
By defeating Portland, the third-place Deltas improved to 47-40.
