The home crowd came to cheer on their first-place Tacoma Loggers.

In a tight tilt between Tacoma and Long Beach, pitcher David Truscott was a key contributor. The right-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 3-1 Loggers win. The first-place Loggers have won 4 straight.

Shigekazu Sanu had a big solo home run for the Loggers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Tacoma leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from Steve Mason and swatted a home run to right. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Loggers ahead, 3-1.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Sanu.
