The Reno Zephyrs picked up a win at Elderberry Field, downing the Palm Springs Codgers, 3-0. On the mound for Reno was right-hander Carmelo Lamberti, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winning pitcher was Lamberti, now 11-8. He tossed 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 5. With the win over Palm Springs, the Zephyrs improved to 66-69.
Reno used the hitting of Don Washington to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Zephyrs on top, 1-0. For the game, Washington had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
