Crystal Lake turned a good performance from starting pitcher León Vega into a 4-1 triumph over the Fargo Dinosaurs at Jurassic Park. Vega yielded 1 run over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 7-3. The win puts Crystal Lake at 84-52 this season.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Yu-eh Bao? The two-time All-Star Bao stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Crystal Lake up, 4-1. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"León made some big pitches when he needed to," said Sandgnats manager Steve Hott.
