Niihama-shi took a 5-4 lead on Joseph Oulton's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Oulton hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Neo-Tokyo pitcher Scott Courtier visibly frustrated.

Oulton told a Niihama-shi Herald reporter that he was "very pleased" with the win.
