Behind a solid performance from third baseman Kaoru Ikeda, the Boise Remuda defeated the Long Beach Oilers, 6-5. Ikeda went 2-2 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Remuda. Ryan Tate went 7.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits. The right-hander, who is tied for 6th in the HUM in wins with 7, struck out 3 and walked 1. With the win, he's now 7-3 this season. Sylvester Mills earned the save for Boise, his 18th of the year.

With Boise leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Ikeda hit a run-scoring single off Long Beach hurler Carlos Sánchez. It was the 27th hit of the season for Ikeda and put his team ahead, 4-2.

"If it's down the middle," said Ikeda, "you might as well hit it."

Boise raised its record to 37-37 with the win.
