Crystal Lake Rallies for 4-3 Win

Both teams had their chances, but the Crystal Lake Sandgnats eventually prevailed.
The Crystal Lake Sandgnats topped the Duluth Warriors, 4-3, in Sovereign League action at Doyle Buhl Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Crystal Lake pitcher and Santiago, Chile, native Raúl Cruz. The winner in relief was Kahsay Seif. He is now 12-5. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. Alejandro Rojas collected his 10th save.
Crystal Lake used the timely hitting of Carl Burrough to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sandgnats on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Burrough told the Crystal Lake Today.
Crystal Lake is now 82-52.
