Lanfear Strokes 5 Hits
|
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Sean Lanfear of the Cambridge Light Blues had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate in his team's 2-1 win over the Ciefuegos Peloteros at Rascals Stadium.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 19-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Sean Lanfear singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Armando Guzmán in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
So far in 2042 Lanfear is batting .389 with 4 home runs, 15 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 21 hits in 54 at-bats and a .522 OBP.
