Black Bears Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Black Bears earned a hard-fought, 4-3 win in 10 innings at Black Bear Ballpark. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Ciefuegos pitcher Francisco Pérez. Pérez went 6 innings and allowed no runs. The Black Bears now own a record of 9-4.
Chatham-Kent Canada got a clutch hit from Lucas Smith. The center fielder launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"Nice, tidy little win," Smith said after the game.
