Terrors Suffer 5-4 Loss to Engineers
|
A good performance from first baseman Mateo Baardman helped the Delft Engineers defeat the Hamilton Canada Terrors, 5-4. Baardman went 2-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Engineers. Loeck Roks earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. Kiril van der Ban closed it out for his 4th save.
Delft took a 5-2 lead on Baardman's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Shawn Allen in the top of the sixth, propelled Delft to the win.
Delft manager Paco Cuellar called it "a good, solid win."
The Terrors, 4-6, continue their sluggish start to the 2042 campaign.
