Maulers Squelch Coqui Offense in Shutout Win
|
The umbrellas came out during the Manchester-San Juan contest at PRTC Stadium.
Rafael Cortéz had a hand in Manchester defeating San Juan by the score of 5-0. Cortéz went 2 for 2 at the plate, scoring 1 times and driving in 2 runs. Manchester has a record of 28-31, placing them third in the Imperial League Seaboard.
Manchester used a clutch at-bat from Adrián Ramírez to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Maulers ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said San Juan manager Tommy Taylor.
