Oxford Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
A 3-RBI performance from first baseman Gordon Bourgeois led the Windsor Canada Goths to a win over the Oxford Dark Blues, 6-4. Windsor Canada reliever Joe Day picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ryan Boulton took the loss. The loss puts Oxford at 1-7.
The Dark Blues had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Goths going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old center fielder Danny Crousse came to the plate. Crousse hit a run-scoring double on a 2-1 fastball from Oxford hurler Callum Wareing. It was Crousse's 3rd double of the year.
In comments to the Windsor Canada Bulletin, Crousse admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
