Loss Tarnishes Fine Effort by Miyazaki
Chuo University first baseman Yasutake Miyazaki pounded Rikkyo University Bishops pitchers at Field of the Angels, but it was not enough to keep the Fire from falling, 8-7. Miyazaki hit 3 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring three times. Ryoma Kato, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Picking up the save was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Ryozo Takeda.

Natsu Nakagawa, who is tied for 9th in the PL with a .623 slugging percentage, took Chuo University hurler Totoya Kobayashi deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Bishops on top, 8-6. In all, Nakagawa had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Xiong Ci said.

The losing skid has reached 6 games for Chuo University.
