Imperials Win with Late Rally
It took 13 innings, but the University of Tokyo Imperials were able to beat the University of Sydney Wallabies, 2-1, at Sydney Cricket Grounds. Yoshinori Nishida provided some offensive muscle for University of Tokyo. He went 3-5 with 2 home runs and a walk. Satoshi Shibata earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. The 'W' lifts University of Tokyo's record to 20-31.

Nishida had a game-changing home run in the top of the 13th. On a 0-2 cutter from Christos Galpin, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Imperials a 2-1 lead. It was the 16th home run of the year for Nishida.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said University of Sydney manager Ken McLaren.
